Join the Math Circle Revolution

Cheenta is helping rural schools in math olympiad training. You may participate in this non-profit process.

What is Math Circle?

Math Circle is a group of 6 students selected from a workshop along with a coordinator (usually a teacher from the school) working together to solve conceptual problems.

Brief History...

In the former Soviet Union, students, teachers, and mathematicians created small groups (Math Circles) to facilitate the process of mathematical learning and philosophical discussion with the aim to promote enthusiasm and camaraderie towards the subject similar to a team sport. Prominent mathematicians like Perelman, are products of Math Circles in Russia.

Our goals

To spread curiosity-driven mathematical discussion in the remotest part of the world and unearth hidden gems using the Eastern European method of organizing Math Circles.

How this works...?

Schools can join hands with us to conduct Maths Circle Workshops.
Students from Cheenta (group leaders) preside over the mathematical discussions every week for 75 mins.
Co-ordinators (teachers) from the schools act as moderators.

Listen to our student's experience...

  • I found this very interesting, being in a higher grade I don't get to interact much with people in the fifth grade. They do have a good Intuition about mathematics, so that's great!
    Pranav Sawant

    Pranav Sawant (Class 11)

  • I enjoyed it a lot.
    Very vibrant kids.
This much responsiveness is quite difficult to find at school at our age.
